This production was performed at the Jackson's Lane Theatre with a small orchestra.
This worked well with Pucinni's score, much more convincingly than the Die Meistersingers at Fulham Opera.
The performances and singing by the performers were excellent and the acting was also good and done with great passion.
Perhaps a few props would have been advisable, but otherwise an intimate rendering of this classic.
The setting was rather dark, which contributed to the instensity of the performance.
The orchestral playing conducted by Juliane Gallant was excellent.
The strings and wind instrument playing was especially good.
Fiona Finsbury and Miona McCardle played Mimi, Kathleen Dharmiada and Eliza Safjan played Musetta, Jospeh Buckmaster and Monwabisi Lindi played Rodolfo, Peter edge and Saran Suebsantiwongsee played Marcello, Jacob Feldman and Humphrey Thompson as Schaunard, Lawrence Williams and Conail O'Neill as Colline and Michael Birnbaum as Benoit/Alcindoro with the New London Children's Choir.
