Advert Description

Please feel free to make an offer.

A Scarce pair of miniature Antique Wig Bellows . Probably Georgian, for Powdering your Wig.

Made from wood, leather & with a tin nozzle. These miniature bellows were to pump white scented starch / powder on your high puffed up hair as early as the 17th & 18th century. They used finely ground starch that had perfume in it to make it smell good & whitening, & to hold it up. This is a historical piece of memorabilia for a barber shop, hair stylist or collector. It is still in working functioning order. Just pop your finger over the small hole to exhale the air. Some have a small cork.

It measures just over 6 1/2" long & is quite tactile.

In expected used but good condition for a item of this age & nature. There's a little movement in the nozzle & it still functions well.

Please study the images, as they also form part of the description & please do your own research.

Can post at extra cost. Postage includes being signed for.
