An Unusual Hardwood Inlaid Antique Box for Restoration.
In expected used & very poor condition for an item of this age & nature. It appears to have some solid hardwood & some veneer. There's shrinkage on some of the lid, a dent in the top, bits of wood missing etc. The inner part as a small shelf. Some of the veneer is missing, but I do have a small piece that has broken off. The lock's also missing etc. But please study the images to fully appreciate what needs doing.
There's mother of pearl inlaid & also strips of silver coloured tarnished metal. There's also a nice mother of pearl centre piece decoration to the top with MGM engraved & around the keyhole.
It would make a nice little renovation project. Basically it requires a lot of work but has the potential to be really nice again, as it has some fantastic coloured grain & nice form & proportions.
The bottom is approx 12 by 9 1/4 by 5" tall.
