Advert Description

Martin Committee 1 Alto Sax,Searchlight model circa. 1935/36 in good condition. Serial number 117xxx on body and crook. The instrument was,I believe, overhauled by Steve Howard who used a picture of its bottom keys to illustrate a point in his Haynes Saxophone Manual,a signed copy of which will go with the instrument. I had the sax set up when I acquired it. The lacquer is unusually good for a Martin,so it may have been relacquered at some point. If so,it was well done as the iconic engraving is still clear. The keywork is solid nickel and in clean condition. There is one small dent on the crook and a couple of very shallow ones that are hardly visible on the ‘U’ bend. These are great sounding,Pro,vintage American horns.
Comes with case (not Martin),no mouthpiece. Buyer can collect or it can be posted.
