Here at Garden cottage
we breed pure breed apricot Indian runner ducks
We only have a small holding. My son is keen to breed and sell these ducks as they are great characters. We breed about 15 at a time with quality the girl ducks are 90% apricots and the drake is grey cross
resulting in ducklings could either be fawn (mallard) or greys again as the darker colours are dominant as you can see in the photos.
the ducklings are hatched in the house, they have lots of handling so to be sure they are very tame ducks. We will put dates of when the next ducklings and drakes are available for sale
Like ducks to water.
While it is not necessary to have a pond the ducks would love some form of water even if you had a paddling pool in your back garden as in the morning the first thing they love to do is to go in for a swim and clean themselves.
Socialise
We breed the ducks in the house until about eight weeks then we let them outside into a pen where they will mingle with other ducks, his way they will get a great start to socialising.
We advise to have at least one Drake as the drake will look after and help protect the female ducks and also encourage them to lay eggs.
