Exceptional with the dust jacket preserved here (generally missing) and the covers very clean.
First edition of this musical score. Magnificent Art Nouveau work illustrated by Henri Rivière (1864-1951), 9 compositions, including 2 for the cardboard and 7 out of text. A beautiful layout in the Art Nouveau style: the letter of the title, the decoration of the flyleaves, the seals and the fleurons were designed by George Auriol.
Condition: very clean cardboard and dust jacket. Slight rubbing to the covers of the dust jacket, small loss to the lower cover. cardboard. Interior fresh and without freckles.
Georges Fragerolle is a French musician and composer, (1855 1920). He begins alongside the group of Hydropathes. On May 12, 1880, he published an article on Le Fumisme. He later became the official pianist of the Chat noir with Satie. He composed most of the music and poems for the shadow theater plays that he performed with a baritone voice, among others alongside the painter and scenographer Henri Rivière from 1887. He was, according to Émile Goudeau, "the maestro of the Black Cat and the Hydropaths »
Henri Rivière (1864-1951) began as the creator of the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret before establishing himself in the history of prints, wood engravings and watercolours.
