Attractive, interesting painting by German artist Rainer Gross.
It is a panel on which several layers of paint have been applied and some of them seem to have been removed. This will reveal the underlying layers and colors. It seems as if the paint has crumbled, but it is Gross' characteristic applied technique to allow water-based paint and oil paint to react to each other by means of a transfer technique.

Dimensions 30.3x24.6 cm, thickness 2.8 cm.
Signed on the back.

Bought at the Parade gallery in the early 1990s.
The work is in excellent condition and will be shipped carefully packaged.

Rainer Gross (1951) is a German artist who works in New York. He is one of the top 1000 German artists. In addition to many international solo exhibitions, he has exhibited together with Sam Francis, Richter and Emil Schumacher. 67515781
